Web Developer

What You’ll Be Doing 

As a Web Developer you’ll be instrumental in you’ll play a key role in bringing client visions to life by creating seamless, user-friendly, and visually compelling digital experiences. This role blends advanced technical expertise, strategic thinking and a collaborative mindset. 

Key Responsibilities:   

• Web Development: Design, build and maintain high-quality WordPress websites using PHP, core WordPress APIs, ACF, SCSS and jQuery, alongside modern JavaScript frameworks such as Nuxt and Vue.js. Develop secure, scalable back-end functionality, including database design and API integrations. Optimise sites for performance, accessibility and SEO, and thoroughly test and debug across browsers and devices. Work closely with the Lead Developer to deliver well-engineered web projects. 
• Client-Focused Delivery: Act as a technical point of contact during projects, translating client requirements into robust, responsive and well-designed solutions. Communicate clearly throughout the development process, providing progress updates and technical guidance where needed. Ensure all work aligns with client brand guidelines, functional requirements and commercial objectives. 
• Infrastructure and Deployment: Provision and manage databases and servers, with hands-on experience configuring and maintaining LAMP environments. Support deployment workflows and environment setup, with exposure to Node.js server-side deployments considered a bonus. 
• Project Ownership: Manage multiple development tasks and projects concurrently, contributing to realistic timelines and delivery plans. Provide clear visibility on progress, risks and dependencies, and support the wider team in meeting deadlines and quality standards.

About You

We’re looking for someone with expertise in web development who excels in delivering results and working collaboratively. Ideally, you’ll bring: 

• Experience: Minimum 5 years’ commercial web development experience, ideally within an agency or similarly fast-paced delivery environment. 
• Technical Expertise: Strong front-end skills including HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript and modern frameworks such as Vue.js or Nuxt. Solid back-end experience using PHP and/or Node.js, with experience of GIT, Gulp, database management and API-driven development. Proven experience building custom WordPress themes and plugins, with a solid grasp of core WordPress and object-oriented programming principles. 
• Delivery & Collaboration: Confident problem-solver with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work collaboratively within a delivery team, and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment. 
• Mindset & Values: Proactive, pragmatic and bold in approach, with a genuine interest in innovation, quality delivery and making a measurable impact.
