Visit Shropshire has been promoting Shropshire as a tourist destination for over a decade. It works with its members and local businesses to showcase the variety of events, things to do and places to visit across the county. However, research showed that 9 out of 10 visitors only come to Shropshire for the day.


Visit Shropshire therefore wanted to create a new campaign to promote staycations, increasing the average spend per visit by encouraging overnight bookings. The campaign would also allow Visit Shropshire to increase awareness of the county as a whole, educating non-residents on what Shropshire has to offer.

Reech created a national campaign to target specific audience segments with tailored staycation itineraries, including suggestions of places to stay and things to do in Shropshire that would speak directly to their interests. The campaign spanned a strategic mix of paid search, paid social, email marketing and Channel 4 Ad Pause and was supported by landing page development, bespoke video content and designed creative assets.
