We’re proud to sponsor Pod Aid

We love having a local presence and supporting charities where we can, so when Alex Whiteley – Founder of The Shrewsbury Biscuit Podcast, a local podcast dedicated to celebrating the businesses, charities, and residents of Shrewsbury – discussed his plans for a brand new fundraising podcast event for 2021, we knew we wanted to get involved!

About Pod Aid

Pod Aid is a brand-new fundraising podcast event for 2021. Starting at 9am on Wednesday 29th September, the 24-hour event will stream live on Pod Aid’s official Facebook and YouTube channel right through until 9am the next morning on Thursday 30th September. Alex Whiteley and his team will be chatting to a variety of different guests for a full 24-hours in a bid to raise money for a good cause.

This year’s first-ever event is in aid of Lingen Davies Cancer Fund, an independent charity supporting cancer patients across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin and Mid Wales. Confirmed guests featuring on the first-ever Pod Aid event include representatives from Lingen Davies, Reech, Climbing Out, Shropshire Festivals, and Smash Life, plus Charlie Adlard, Eddie Pence, Mayor Dean and Adam Purnell (to name a few!).

How we’re helping…
Branding

First up, the name! Inspired by the 1985 benefit concert, Live Aid, the name Pod Aid is a present-day, podcast version. The logo icon has been cleverly designed to display the letters ‘p’ and ‘a’ for Pod Aid in the relevant shape of speech bubbles. Using a bold, eye-catching and professional colour palette, Pod Aid is a fun and appealing brand designed with longevity in mind. The strapline ‘Chatting for Charity’ outlines exactly what Pod Aid is and its mission!

Content Creation & Social Media Management

With a slick and stylish brand in place, our Digital department has worked alongside the Studio team to design a number of professionally branded assets to use on Pod Aid’s social media channels. Drawing mainly upon the refreshing, bright greens from the colour palette, the social media assets have been expertly designed to fit in with the overall look and feel of Pod Aid’s identity.

Our Social Media team have devised a strategic plan to promote the Pod Aid event online and gain traction in the form of page shares, followers and likes.

Merchandise

Next up, merchandise! The Creative team at Reech have designed some branded Pod Aid t-shirts and caps for the team to look the part and wear during the live 24-hour event. Simple, stylish and in line with brand identity, the t-shirts and caps are also a great way to build brand awareness and draw attention to Pod Aid in the lead up to the event.

We’re thrilled to work alongside Reech Media and The Web Orchard to introduce a new and exciting fundraising event this September to raise money for Lingen Davies, a local charity. The idea behind Pod Aid is to challenge content creators to do good for their local community and raise money for a fantastic cause.

As we begin our countdown, we’re super excited to confirm guests and encourage anyone and everyone to please donate what they can through our JustGiving page.

We’re really excited to work alongside the team at Pod Aid for its first-ever event. As a community-focused marketing agency, we’re always proud to be involved in local projects.

With Pod Aid supporting one of our clients, Lingen Davies, we knew that this would be a fantastic opportunity to raise both awareness and donations for a charity that is working harder than ever before as a result of the pandemic.
