Behind the Scenes: Strategy

Behind The Scenes | Marketing Strategy

A business without a strategy leaves growth to chance – and that’s something we never want for our clients. We know that behind every successful campaign lies a well-thought-out marketing strategy and marketing plan, with clear objectives and measurable KPIs.

Our dedicated Growth team plays a crucial role in shaping these strategies to drive commercial results for our clients. Here’s a glimpse into how our process works, how we collaborate with you to achieve a sustainable growth plan, and why a robust strategy is essential to start a new partnership with your agency.

The Process

Working with a wide range of business and organisation sizes, across a variety of sectors, means we meet client needs in different ways. We tailor our approach, and all of our relationships are centred around delivering meaningful growth through creativity and performance.

Some reach out to us directly with a brief, wanting to overcome a specific challenge or an immediate business need. Others connect with us because they want ongoing support from our experts, so we initiate a collaborative partnership. Either way, we want to understand their business and its direction, before marketing tactics can begin.

Plus, we regularly review our existing clients’ marketing plans to ensure they’re taking advantage of growth opportunities.

Our partnerships then officially begin with a two-hour Discovery Session: a deep dive into the company’s motivations, challenges, ambition, target audience, competitors, and the general landscape their business is in. Led by the Growth team – joined by our Creative Director, Head of Client Services, and the Client Marketing Manager – it’s an engaging session for the client’s team to zoom out of the day-to-day, and an opportunity for Reech to understand the business better.

One of the most important elements of this session is identifying what success looks like at a commercial, marketing, and relationship level. This ensures we’re all aligned from the get-go and both teams are working towards the same objectives.

Growth Team Responsibilities

Wholly responsible for understanding the unique ambitions and challenges of each business we work with, we truly become an extension of our clients’ teams. We don’t just dive straight into short-term tactics, we first ensure we fully comprehend the client and their specific needs for long-term growth too.

Then, once onboarded, the Growth team remains integral to the client’s business and in driving success. Essentially, they act as the North Star – keeping everyone aligned to the client’s objectives and unearthing any additional growth opportunities.

In addition to monthly check ins together, we hold Quarterly Strategy Sessions with each client – to take a deeper look at the results and data, the competitive landscape, trends and opportunities.

Plus, we practice what we preach and treat Reech as a client too. We regularly review and refresh our own marketing tools and techniques to best meet our overall strategy and commercial goals.

Keep It Simple

All too often, marketing gets a bad reputation – when poorly executed or overcomplicated, it can feel like more of a burden than a benefit.

That’s why we strive to keep things simple and straightforward. Marketing is about enhancing or maintaining sales and margins. Either by slightly increasing the chance that people will choose your brand, by creating positive feelings and associations, or via communications that people find interesting, relevant and useful. That’s it.

But as Steve Jobs said: “Simple can be harder than complex: you have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it’s worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains.”

Investing the time and resource required to achieve this can feel daunting. But devising a clear strategy that the whole business is aligned to is a superpower to unlock growth.

Is it time to invest in a strategy to make the most of your marketing efforts this year? Our Growth team is here to help you to bring it back down to basics to achieve sustainable growth and measurable results.
