A Milestone Moment: Celebrating 35 Years of Severn Hospice

Severn Hospice | Here & At Home

Since our inception, we’ve partnered with organisations that are driven by purpose and that share our commitment to positive change locally and community wellbeing. Recently, we had the privilege of working with Severn Hospice to mark a major milestone: its 35th anniversary.

For over three decades, Severn Hospice has been providing exceptional care to patients and families living with incurable illnesses in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, and North Powys. This milestone deserved a celebration that not only recognised the hard work of its dedicated team, but that also honoured the incredible support of the community and the journey it’s been on to date.

A Collaborative Evolution

Since 2017, our partnership with Severn Hospice has been grounded in a shared commitment to community involvement and social responsibility. Over the years, we’ve collaborated on several initiatives, including a full brand refresh, as well as the design and rollout of stationery, signage, and vehicle livery. Even after eight years, this rebrand remains a key element of their ongoing success. Driven by a passion for supporting Shropshire-based charities, much of our work has been significantly subsidised or pro bono.

Educate, Engage, and Enthuse

As a natural continuation of this partnership, early last year we approached the team with an open offer of support to shout about this significant milestone to further emphasise the valuable service, solace and comfort that Severn Hospice provides to our local community. During subsequent discussions, the idea of a video emerged – to engage its supporters, say thank you to volunteers, and showcase the evolution of the charity since it was established in 1989.

The goal was to craft a powerful, compassionate and empowering narrative that could be used across multiple platforms – from social media to a website landing page – to reach as many people as possible, making a lasting impact and educating viewers in an instant.

It was a huge pleasure to organise and assist with capturing and editing this video, and we understood the real importance of this project – and in getting it right! We met with key staff members to discuss objectives, gather insights, and really understand the heart of the organisation, which led to us being able to devise a storyboard for the production that truly reflected the hospice’s heritage and history, as well as its personality, values and mission.

Lights, Camera, Action

The production of the 90-second video was a collaborative effort, with our dedicated media team conducting a comprehensiveshoot that captured both on-site and at-home care, highlighting the huge range of services that Severn Hospice offers throughout the community.

We included a mix of emotional storytelling and impactful visuals that would speak to the heart of its mission. Capturing the real people behind the charity – its staff, volunteers, and patients – showcases the genuine care that has been the cornerstone of the hospice’s work. And the voiceover actor we worked with delivered a warm and empathetic vocal track that beautifully told the Severn Hospice story, making it feel natural and comfortable.

The resulting video is an authentic representation of Severn Hospice’s journey, and it was designed with longevity in mind. For a charity like Severn Hospice, we knew that creating a video that could be used for years to come is crucial. It’s a resource that will serve not only for the 35th anniversary but also as a vital tool for future campaigns, volunteer inductions, and community outreach.

So far, it’s received an overwhelmingly positive response from all who’ve seen it and has been praised as ‘polished and fresh’. Already it has proven to be a valuable asset in helping Severn Hospice maintain and expand its community connections.

Tracie Harrison, Director of Income Generation at Severn Hospice, shares her feedback of the video campaign here:

We’re hugely proud of this meaningful project and are honoured to have played a small part in celebrating the incredible work that Severn Hospice does. Here’s to many more years of impact, care, and community support.
